Elea Giménez Toledo holds a doctorate (2002) and graduated (1996) in Information Science at the University of Carlos III, Madrid (Spain). She carried out her dissertation in the field of the Evaluation of Scientific Journals and her PhD thesis in the area of Bibliometry, under the supervision of Adelaida Román in the EPUC group. For five years she was lecturer in Information Science for Journalist at the University of Navarra (Spain). Since 2006 she has been Research Fellow at the Institute of Documentary Studies on Science and Technology, IEDCYT (CSIC). Her main line of research is the evaluation of scientific journals and monographs in SSH (see publications and projects). She is in charge of various research projects and supervises several PhD theses in her field and she is also the author of a number of publications. She is on the editorial boards of El profesional de la información, Revista Espanola de Documentación Científica and Comunicación y Sociedad and on the advisory board of the journal Comunicar. She is evaluator for various national and international journals in the field of Information Science.
