Ángela Sorli, holds a doctorate in Geography and History, has a degree in Information Science and a Diploma in postgraduate studies from the Centre of Bibliographic and Information Science Studies of the Ministry of Culture. She is Research Fellow at CSIC and works in the Evaluation of Scientific Publications Research Group at the IEDCYT. She is the author of some hundred works, primarily in the area of Library Science and the Internet, among them are “Tesauro de biblioteconomía y documentación”, “Biblioteconomía y documentación en Internet”, “La evaluación de la investigación en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales”, “Calidad, pluralidad y prestigio de las revistas espanolas de Biblioteconomía y Documentación” and “Las publicaciones periódicas de construcción en Espana y su importancia en la transferencia de conocimientos”. She has given courses and conferences, both for academic and professional institutions throughout Spain and other countries. She has participated in some ten research projects in the last few years, including : “System of identification, analysis and dissemination of science and technology information resources”, “Distribution of Spanish scientific journals in internet by using metadata and taxonomies” and “Creation/establishment of diverse types of indicators to determine the quality of publishers of scientific monographs in SSH”. She is a member of the European Network of Information and Documentation on Latin America (REDIAL) and the scientific board of two journals in the area of Information Science as well as evaluator of other publications also in this area.
